Morning all,
I am creating families with a lot of parameters that needs to be ruled by formulas. I don't wan't them to be visible in grey, in the property palette as well as in the Edit Type box, once loaded into a project file. If I set them as type parameter they will appear in grey in the Edit Type box, on the other way round, as Instance, they will appear in the property palette.Ideas anyone?
Thank you for your help.

You might try using a shared parameter by instance, that way you could set a "hide" parameter in a filter, then filter by view with a view template.

nastyclown,
I'm always interested in new methods but you have lost me. How can a view filter hide family parameters listed in the family type properties? Can you tutor me?

Actually is an instance parameter , but since you can create it with a shared parameter by instance, it can be listed in a schedule.
You can create a visibility yes/no parameter that drives the geometry, then a simple filter "parameter exist, yes/no"
to filter that info.

OK.... Filtering a schedule I can see but the question was how to hide them when you look at the family instance parameters and type parameters...... So the answer is still no - you can't do that.

if still struggling on this look at the below article. if you move some parameters about and make them shared, you can make them invisible in by changing items in the shared parameters file.https://aectechtalk.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/hiding-revit-family-parameters-in-a-project/
