Attached Photo *I am trying to make a roof for a warehouse, you know those jagged looking ones. Well i have my floor plates and walls. now I imported a cad file (elevation) which has the outline of the roof, what do i do now?i tried roof by extrusion but it doesnt work for me. The roof outline is a single line but when i try to extrusion it makes the lines singular, (bit weird) and when i select them all the roof dsnt happen anyways. If i do it in rhino and import the cad, can i add windows into the roof later in revit? preferably i would like to make it a revit roof, just dont know how.
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

why dont you do the roof as a series of separate saw tooths?
first draw a work plane and give it a name. this will be the plane on which you draw the extrusion.
do an axtrusion of 1 slope with the bullnose roll at top - this will be drawn as a magenta coloured line, the properties of the roof will determine the thickness. typically about 175mm thick (7")- cladding + roof purlin depth.
do a box gutter at bottom of roof slope- again an extrusion.
do a glazed panel curtain wall to represent the southlights ( or northlites if tyou are in northern hemisphere).
so basically 3 separate items, the curtain wall, the roof and the gutter.
do 1 module and just copy multiple the number of bays you require.
this roof is really a set of adjoining little roofs.
cheers

Thanks for the reply, when you talk about the bullnose roll at the top, why does this have to be magenta, and how do i make 1 line if there is a curve, or would it be a straight line, a curved line and then a sloped line, and then use these 3 lines to do extrusion..

when you sketch the roof extrusion, magenta is the default sketch line colour offered by the program.
so to draw the roof extrusion, you would draw the straight bit of roof and then the arc top section , etc
as wwhub says, read your help.
