You can go into the material browser and edit the material so that the surface pattern has a colour to it. This means when you change the visibility graphics to Hidden line, every material that you have overridden with turn to the allocated colour.
As shown in attachements:

Or alternatively, you could give a single element multiply materials by creating parts, giving each part its own unique material.
As attached>>

Within your water texture, material browser, i did notice that you didnt have a surface pattern. If you change the surface pattern to solid, then your colour should appear.
This will only work with colours, getting material textures to appear in hidden line mode is another thing. I hanvt tried that yet!

Hi Yo,
Have you verified that the image you posted in the original thread message was indeed a revit project?
IMHO, it appears to be a sketchup model. Sketchup has some rendering tools that make this affect much easier to
achieve than in Revit, i.e. line jitter, broken line, layering color over non colored areas (you'll need photoshop or gimp to achieve this).
Check out the Denis Technique - http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/200-dennis-technique
I've attached an image I completed for a client utilizing the Denis Technique
(Side note: I'm fairly new to revit but have been modeling and rendering in sketchup for several years now.)
Hope this help and good modeling to you
