Hello guys / gals,
First off I'm in Revit 2014.
Could someone tell me the best recommendation on how to model a box truss (4 equal sides, 4 foot deep) out of 3x3x5/16" angles? The overall length would need to be around 100' but I'm thinking I would prefer to model a 20' long piece and copy it (5) times. My question is what would be the best method? I'm fairly knew to working with trusses. I've dabbled in the truss "new family - structural framing" some and I can get the truss created there. Would I just draw one side and mirror for the other then rotate and mirror for top and bottom? I've tried that but it seems rotating the end angles to "butt" together seems to be a pain. From what I've gather you have to unpin it, rotate it into place. But then if you need to change the depth or move the truss it goes back to default so I know that can't be the most efficent way. I've also read some posts about using "model-ini-place" to do it, maybe that would work. I would just like any advice or opinions you guy may have. Also this will be holding a conveyor so it will need to be at an angle in elevation view if that makes a difference to the various style / ways of modeling it. Thanks in advance.
