Since the curtain system doesn't have a area parameter embedded which makes harder the make the calculation. Is there any workaround for that?

Curtain walls are walls. The area is there for the overall.
You can also take off curtain panels as a material and they have areas.
Curtain mullions can be scheduled by type and length.

Curtain system and curtain walls are not the same thing. I want to get the whole area of the curtain system inclusive mullion and panels

If you had meant curtain systems created by model by face, you should have said so. These panels can still be taken off by material and you can total the area and that will be correct if your panels go to the center of the mullions.

i know this is a little late adding to the thread but, regarding getting the area of a curtain system (and yes one applied to a mass face) you mention using a material take off. my question is if you use the material take off for the panels, would this not count the material on the four sides of the panel rather than just the outside surface area? (which is what i would be looking for)

You are correct.... but you can account for this ...or get very close.
Obviously, if the unit is flat and you wanted total area, a simple filled region would be far easier and quicker.

WWHUB, thanks for the info but unfortunatly the curtain system is on a curved cone shape surface.
would you possible be able to explain how you would account for the 6 sides of a curatin panel?
your help would be greatly appreciated.
