I'm new to Revit (and currently using Revit 2014) and having trouble with the standard Revit cabinet family. I currently have a two story building in which I placed cabinets, sinks and countertops (with sink hole) on the first and second floors. In one instance, my second floor cabinetry is showing up on the first floor. In another instance, my sink (for my first floor cabinetry) shows only in elevation and section and not in plan. The cabinetry, sinks and countertops for this particular location stack on both floors. The same families are used in other areas of the building and they all show up correctly. For some reason, having them stack seems to create a hidden sink on the first floor.
I've checked to see that there are no underlays and my view is set to hidden line. The cabinetry and sinks are set to their respective floors and worksets.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have all of the updates installed for 2014? Are you using phasing? Are you sure they are associated to the correct level? Is the view range set correctly in plan so they show? Are there any Plan Regions? An image of your problem would be helpful.

These problems are all posibly process errors. "Stacking" makes no difference. By your description, it sounds like your sink, cabinet and counter? - are all seperate families - correct? As such, the cabinet, top and probably all level hosted (maybe not). If they are, you can inspect all of there properties and compare them. Each family should be hosted on the correct level with the same offset on each level.
An easy way to do these so they all work is to place them on the first level so they all work. Now in one operation, select them all and copy to clipboard. Now from the paste, pick paste aligned to selected levels and pick your other levels. (That can be multi....)
