using revit 2014,

 

i made a custom rail with rail termination.. but i cant see the rail termination in the plan view only .. i checked the vg and the detail level but still cant see them in the plans.... any ideas ??

We know nothing about YOUR family.  In the family, you can set individual model elements to show up in plan at various detail levels or not at all.  The same for elevation / section views.  And you can use annotation lines in elevation or plan views when model elements are not shown.  The family can be created in different categories which can be controlled independently in each view.  The family can be created in the project in different phases, different worksets and different design options and each of these items can be controlled in each view.

 

So perhaps the above gives you some places to look or you can narrow our focus.

ok please see the attached file to know what i mean.

take a look at the 3d and the plan , and notice the termination is invisible in the plans ... by the way i tried all your sugesstions but still i cant see it in the plan..

 

you can find the family of the rail termination under  RAILINGS>>CORNER HANDRAIL

Your visibility settings all seem to be correct.  This may be a 2014 issue so I suggest you send it to Autodesk.

 

BTW - Your geometry does not line up with this end piece and the sketch path line is at some obtuse angle that isn't obvious.  Maybe that contributes to the problem.

ya ur right ... i fixed them ... thanks... but i still cant see the rail termination on the plan ....
