Hi Everybody,

I'm a newbie here.  Why do my roofs at the fascia not stay in line.  Basic cottage style roof but with 2 different roof slopes

12:12 on one side and 10:12 on the adjacent sides.  I've attached a pic to illustrate my problem.  Is there a fix for this?  Am I missing something?

hi there, your answer is in your question.

you have same eave overhang width, same pitching ht, so the leesr roof slope will fall less over the same distance as the steeper roof slope.

one of the parameters needs to change, with one of the slopes either eave width, pitching point height or slope.

If you sketch the roof from the eaveline instead of using the overhang function, the roof will work correctly.  Recognize that the bearing height will be different when you do that unless it is accomodated for in the roof framing.

Thanks guys.  Figured it out.  One definitely has to use a particular mind set to work some of these details out.  This I find is a bit of a downer for me when it comes to revit.  Smart but not so smart.  Practice makes perfect I guess.

Thanks again.
