I am currently modelling a building with multiple floor finishes in some of the rooms.
I would like to make a schedule with the following rows:
- Area
- Type code
- Room
- Description
- (Phase)
- Cost
- Notes
I have tried to do it by material takeoff, room and multi-categori schedule, but didn't get it quite right.
What is the best/easiest way to do this?

Because walls and floors typically span larger areas than simple rooms, they have not yet come up with a way to do this. Yes, you can split surfaces and assign different materials and schedule those but you will not have a location like a room. The solution is the old standard dumb room schedule. The room name/number/area is all model based but the finishes are added manually to the room schedule. As such, you will not be able to get material surface areas.
