Hey everyone,
I am trying to apply a corrugated metal roof to an In-Place-Mass that is essentialy two intersecting cones (image related). This form is giving me non-stop issues and I am wondering if anyone can help resolve some of them.
1) How do get the corrugated appearance (At least in section) for the Roof (which will not accept a Floor-by-Face).
2) Apply Structural Trusses to its underside. Currently I am getting an error messages reading : [Revit can not attach to the chosen Roof/Slab. The truss can not project to a surface or the attachment creates an invalid profile.]
Thanks

it looks like the curve radii of the roof sheeting would change from 1 side of building to other.
will be interesting to see how each sheet of roofing joins as from one side of each sheet to the other, the radii will be slightly different.
as these sheets are rolled through a machine , can they have different curve radii from one side to the other of each sheet ?
will there be a box gutter in the valley , for roof drainage?

Yes, the intention i to have the roof drain down the center and collet the water for a communal garden to the south. I am aware that this form is possible to construct via steel rollers, but am unable to model it in Revit. This forum is my last effort to stay in Revit before making the transition to Rhino for the rest of the project. Is there an efficient way to finish the structure in Revit or am working with a lost cause?

Using a very regular form in an irregular overall form might not be the best thought.
If the water drains down the length of the depression wouldn't the corrugations be along the same line? Although you can bend corrugated sheet metal across the strong direction, it easily bends in the parallel direction and that seems to be the logical direction for this material to be installed. That being said, where would the start of the pattern be? In the middle of the trough? I would think so and that being the case, the sheets will all trim irregular along the edges.
We never model sheet profiles - we only use materials which will render the profile.

A bit late to the party but for the corrugated appearance I would change the roof type to a glazed roof, and apply a roofprofile as the mullion.
I have done this a few times on standard pitched roofs with no trouble, so in theory it should work for yours although with Revit things like this are never a certainty!
You'll have to create a roof profile first then load it, create a new mullion type using that profile, then create a glazed roof using the 'mullion' width as the spacing between profiles
Hope this helps!

I tried using the sloped glazing to apply a corrugated profile, as per a tutorial online. The curtain mullian grid follows the curves when you place them, although when you apply the corrugated mullian it gets imported as a straight line.
