Hi All,

I'm new to Revit City and in my final year in WIT. I've read alot of posts and forums relating to my topic. All a little different from mine so my question is still unanswered.

I have constructed a 3D model of an undercroft in AutoCAD 2014, very irregular shape, with approx.7-8 layers. I wish to bring it into Revit 2014 and assign materials and properties to the different solids so i can run it through Energy Analysis. My problem is, no matter how I try, or which route I take to get the model from AutoCAD to Revit, it appears to be one complete mass. I cannot select a single component of the mass.

This is a major part of my dissertation and I urge anyone who can to please help me.

Thanks

It's a little late ... you should have done some planning and testing before you did anything.

CAD imports are assigned material by layer from CAD.xperiment with that.

@WWHub

I do understand but with limited time and very little experience in Revit. I had to assume the interoperability would be in my favour. Your comment has been taken and considered, thanks.
