When I print, any transparency I have set up does not come out on the hard copy and all surfaces/regions are treated as opaque. On-screen it all seems fine. Anyone know why this may be? Google searches suggested using the 'plot transparency' check box in the 'plot' dialogue box but I cannot see such an option! I am using Revit 2014, thanks in advance for any advice.

Post some images illustrating your problem. It will help others to understand exactly what your issues are.

See files below to illustrate my problem. Screen cap is as shown on-screen in Revit whilst Print file shows resultant pdf.
Example shown is wireframe model view with graphics overridden in view with surface pattern added. Various other methods do not seem to work either, eg adding a percentage of surface transparency. I just need the pile under the pad to be visible whilst adding a colour to the concrete foundation (which is a modelled in place component).
Does a 'plot transparency' button exist in Revit? This issue seems identical to AutoCADs if the box is left unchecked.
You may also notice the pad to the right does not have the columns showing despite the whole collection of objects being identical!!!
Hope this clarifies my problem.

We had a similar problem whenever a transparent filled region or surface pattern was used. If I remember correctly, installing the update releases resolved the issue. Do you have the latest updates installed? There are 2 for Revit 2014 and they must be installed sequentially. I'm not aware of a plot transparency button.

I am working with R2015 and experiencing that I cannot print Vector when I have transparent elements in the view. Wasn't this corrected with the updates in 14 (as described above)??
