i dont how did they forget it??? ) but revit cant write stair numbers...
its an outrage in year 2006!

Do you mean a tag that read Stair 1, Stair 2, etc? If so use a tag, or create a tag.

i think you mean tread numbers? as in, numbers counting up the stair treads. we used to do this with 2d drafting, and would love it to automate in revit.
but it is easy to just place text on the plan!
