Is there a way to modify parameters such as Frame Type, Frame Material, Finish etc. in door families for scheduling purposes? I would like to remane them and change group parameter, but I could not find a way. They are not seen either in  Project Parameters or Family Parameters. But they show up in family proporteies and schedule when you click the door in project?

Thanks in Advance.

You can edit those in the family.... But why do you want to rename them?  Thee frame / door names are standard and used across all doors.  You can rename that column in your schedules to whatever you want in the project.

Not all parameters are designed to be scheduleable right out of the box. If there is a parameter that you want to show up in schedules, you have to create the parameter as a "shared parameter" in the family editor. The values for these shared parameters will now show up in your project and can be added to a schedule.

For example, I created a door material, frame material, and trim material within my shared parameter file and those materials now show up in my door schedule. I do the same for my windows, casework, etc.

Matter of fact, I use shared parameters for most of my custom library just so there is consistancy between my files. I might have 10 different door families, but they all have the same parameter names even though most of the parameters I use I don't add to a schedule.
