I read some posts and it said top open up an old project that has the drop down on sections, but Ihave opened several and none are showing it in Revit 2014. What is the best way to create details from the model without this?

From the view / section, you should be able to choose which type. We have 3 defined types in our template. Building section (solid heads), wall section (open heads) and detail ... just a bubble. Your template may have more or less types of sybols to show when you cut your section.

The issue is no options come down for the Section. I had a project that was created with 2013 that had the drop down building section, but open now in 2014 there is not option for the other kinds of sections. I've opned up other projects, none of them have the option.
I cannot do wall sections.... Why is it not there?

Duplicate the type that is there and add one for wall sections

1. The wall section option is missing from a file that I had created in 2014...
Please see attachment.
2. Is there a way to take details I create in one project and transfer them into another
Thanks

These are just types..... Create your own.
Open a project that has this set and look at how the type you want is setup. Now you can do this whenever you need to.
