Im trying to cut a solid through some hollow steel columns, and am not having any luck. Is there any way of doing this in Revit? Any information would be appriciated.

Thanks!

Im trying to cut the ends of these colums at an angle so that they will sit on a sloped surface. To do this i have tryed subtracting a solid, in the shape of the angle i would like the colums to be cut, from the columns themselves. And I have had no luck.

Is the sloped surface a floor or roof?  If so just click on the column and use the Attach Top/Base command and click the floor or roof you want it to attach to.  You could also create a reference plane at the angle you need and use the Cut command.

Place a reference plane at your sloped surface.  Name it and include "DO NOT REMOVE".  Not from the modify tab, pick cut, your column, then the reference plane.
