I am attempting to schedule the materials and their physical properties, mechanical and strength.  In a composite slab or a standard roof deck, there is a metal deck.  In my schedule I need to tell the contractor the gauge of that metal deck.  There isn't a parameter or property for this.  In the past, I have used "shared parameters" but mistakes do happen with parameters that are too easily changed. I have found people will not go into the material properties to change things such as this and these types of mistakes can be avoided.  So make the user select the correct material (with the correct material parameter assigned internally ;-)

I believe I can use Custom Parameters for Materials.  I followed the Help directions ... basically by creating a Project Parameter and selecting Material for the Categories, but ... I cannot seem to find how to place in the schedule.  When in the Schedule Properties box, I have searched the Availible Fields, and have also changed the 'Select available fields from:' as have also checked the Included elements in linked files (didnt really think that would help but wanted no stone un-turned).  So I turn to you all.  Has anyone ever scheduled Custom Material Paramters?
