I'm taking a RVT file from an architect and adding beams/posts to it. However, when I add posts inside the architects walls they disappear due to the walls blocking their appearance. If I hide the walls I can see the structural items I added inside them. It doesn't matter if the architects file is linked, or linked-then-exploded, the walls always block site of the structural items. Does anyone know how to allow the posts appear inside the walls??? Thanks!

"It doesn't matter if the architects file is linked, or linked-then-exploded" You can't explode a revit project so whatever you are linking in and exploding is not a revit project.

Not ungroup either. The file should just be linked.
Maybe this is part of your problem. You need your own file with the architect's file linked into it. You can then control the visibility of the architect's model seperate from yours.

It's a new file with the architectural file linked into it.

So in a view goto VG/Linked Revit/set it to custom/then VG/Model and set the walls as you wish. Maybe transparent, maybe coarse.... This is all up to you.

To review for clarity:
I create a new file. I link the architectural file into it. If my view is on "structural" I won't be able to see the architect's walls, so I change it to "coordination" view. Now the walls appear. I add a column into the wall and it disappears after being placed. I then hide the wall and the column is visible, which proves that the column is visible in that view range. How do I make this column visible in the wall? Thanks.
