So first, yes I searched and searched but either I'm not using the correct terms or this hasn't been addressed.
This is in Revit 2014.
First: I have a roof that is the same as the little example shown when you hover over the Roof command button. But mine isn't working correctly, see first attached image. Basically te lower roof is staying out at the eave depth instead of going back into the wall.
Second: The second attached image should hopefulyl explain what I'm trying to do. Does this need to be two roofs? They share on plane, just part of it goes higher, to make a higher ridge, and the eaves are at different heights.
Also, since I'm here, one last question. I've set the ridge on my roofs to be at a level we have as T/Ridge. But the roof actualyl places the bottom of the ridge at this level, not the top. Is there a setting to change on this, or do I just use the offset command?
Thanks for all the help!!!!

do as 2 roofs then join.
you will need a spandril panel between upper and lower segments unless wall goes through.
maybe roof pitch over riding the top of ridge reference.
if you move ridge to the ref line the roof pitch will alter (to a lower value)
cheers

Thanks, are you talking about the second roof issue I'm having. I thought I'd probably need two roofs. Just lining up the backside roof plane is problematic.
What about the first one? It drawn just like it shows in Revit.....

I create my roof basically like you show then I add a second roof under the eave and join that along the slope of the roof. This is easier than tring to join to roofs at a peak.

Not exactly sure what you mean. Join roofs only seems to work on roofs that are perpendicular to each other for me, not parallel.

parallel roofs should join.
when creating the second roof, use create similar and pick lines, that way the roof pitch and pitching point (truss or rafter etc)
will match, and roof will join.

Still working on this, but thanks for the answers so far. I can get the two slopes to match if I set them to Slope, not Height of Tail.
The problem is, for the lwoer rood, I need to set the ridge at a paritcular spot and when I use Slope instead of HofT, it moves the ridge.
Is there a way to set HoT and match it for both roofs? I can't find a numebr or anything of what the slope ends up being when using HoT.
