I have a project that was started in version 2012 and then upgraded through 2013 and now up to 2014. Ever since it was upgraded to 2014 I've been experiencing graphics glitches. Things like overrides working in the morning, not working in the afternoon, not there next morning and back to working again in the afternoon. Filters are doing whatever they want to do, not what they're supposed to do. And my favorite - graphics that change at random.
Has anybody else had this problem? If so, is there a fix or are we stuck with an unstable and ugly project. The good thing is it's almost done so it'll soon be the contractor's problem.

Have you audited the file?
Do you have the 2014 updates installed?
Did you religiously review the warnings and clean those up as much as possible?
Are all of your graphic card drivers up to date?

We are experiencing also on Revit 2014 update 2 that some visibility settings enforced by templates do not stay permanently applied as they are supposed. For instance we need to constantly switch a certain filter visibility from on to off and back to on to get it to refresh and apply the settings (on the template visibility settings). We also noticed lines above on stairs are turned off everytime we open the revit file, even though it's on on the applied view template.

I have seen some upgrade problems on the past so I won't throw that thought out. The only solution for that would be to have Autodesk look at the file. That is a one day turn around typically - on subscription.
Check your templates and make sure they got upgraded correctly. Maybe one of the settings got dropped. It sounds like your filter is NOT there.

It's even happening to filters made after the upgrade. The problem seems to be with the older elements instead of the setting themselves. At least we now know we're not the only ones so it's not our computers causing the problem.
