I'm trying to get wall section references to show in both the plan view and in the building section view.
If I create a wall section from the building section and then change it to show in all intersecting views, it won't show in the floor plan, and the reference shortly disappears from the building section, leaving a wall section without any referring views.
If I create the wall section from the floor plan along the same line as the building section, it won't show in the building section.
The plan views are associated with scope boxes - could that effect section visibility?
Both the plans and building sections are at 1/8" scale, so the hide at scales coarser than setting shouldn't be an issue. We are using view templates, sections and callouts are set to be visible in both views. We're in 2014.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hide at scales coarser than can be set to any value... 1/8" scale doen't matter so still check that.
In order for a view reference to show, it must be cut by the view clipping plane.
"If I create the wall section from the floor plan along the same line as the building section..." << You are saying a parallel view - well that will not show.
