If one uses some of the methods suggested by posts on various Revit sites and makes the egress path some sort of a model line with a shared "Length" reporting parameter (so that a Tag can be used), does this line then show up in all the views? If so, what is the most efficient workflow to make it appear only on Life Safety plans?

There is a family here on the site that does that. I would place it in a workset that is set to typically off in all views.
