Hi guys,
I'm a beginner when it comes to creating family. I'm trying to create detail components for plywood/glass...etc. The two things I'm trying to achieve are:
1. Adjustable length
2. Adjustable angle cut
I've added two parameters (length & angle) to the detail family. I am wanted it to be adjusted just by using the align tool. However, only the Length parameter seems to work fine. The Angle parameter only works when I key in the angle that I want. The whole component rotates when I tried to align the (angled) end of the component. Ideally, I would like the (anlged) line to align without rotating the whole component.
Please see attached file for clarification.
Thanks for any help in advance

I'm not sure what the angled lines in the middle are but if you are trying to put an angle on the end of your component and have it be parametric you need to use a reference line and apply an angle parameter to the reference line. You should always create your families with reference lines and planes first and make sure they flex and then add your extrusions, lines etc.
You should read the Revit families guide

On a side note Revit has some Detail Components out of the box in Div 06 that you might want to check out. Personally I would use a filled region instead of a detail component to show plywood

It's drawn using filled region within the family. I did draw a reference plane to the end of the it and then apply a parameter to it. However, when I try aligning the end to a plane in a project file, the whole component rotates instead of aligning just the end line to the plane.
I created the family instead of using filled region within the project in order to keep the consistency of linetype and thickness of it. There's more than 2 persons working on the same project.

You need to have 1 reference line and 1 reference plane... one to control the length and one to control the angle
