I am working on a project with a lot of funky detailed ceilings that I have used the model in place component for.
I need to do a material takeoff schedule for these ceilings and cannot get them to schedule properly. They are not showing up at all or a level is not associated with them.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Did you place them in the ceiling category? They will schedule for area if you did. They will not however associate with a level. You will have to add a parameter and fill that in.
A multi-catagory material schedule will also show the material area.

THanks WWHub, I did create them in the ceiling category.
I tried a multi category material schedule and only 2 of the 8 are showing up.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks!

We can't help very much - there are just too many things you may have done.
I have a model in-place ceiling - one extrusion. A seperate model in place ceiling with 3 different extrusions, each with a different material and a sweep in that family as well. All of the materials show up in my schedule.
We ask everyone when they post to include what rfevit and what updates they have installed. You may be wasting both of our times by not telling us that. You will find the information under the dropdown next to the question mark / about.

I just want to caution you about this process. Model in place elements are different from system families. I suggest you do a simple test to understand some of this.
In a new blank project, place a standard 10'x10' ceiling with say a 2x2 accoustical material. Now create another model in place ceiling that is 10'x10'x1' thick extrusion with a 2x4 accoustical material. Now do a material takeoff.
Notice that you have 100sf of 2x2 material but 240 sf of 2x4 material. Revit only takes off the bottom of the system ceiling but all surfaces of the model-in-place.
So now what do you do?????

Revit 2014 - no updates
That is good to know. I guess you would paint the model for the area you want calculated and schedule it?
I started a new project, created a model in place ceiling with and extrusion and a void - still didn't schedule. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Nor do I know why 2 of my model in place ceilings scheduled and not the rest of them?

Revit 2014 has 2 updates. Update 1 is the most important but install them both.
