HI All,
Revit OOTB comes with an <invisible> linetype.
Is it possible to create the same linetype but have it dashed?
Thanks in advance
Beau

Why?
I don't understand why you would ever want this. The invisible line is invisible!

Hey dubdub,
Thanks for your response.
I've been trying to create a door family that shows circulation requirements for disabled users.
Although I had the numerous circulation nested families linked in fine and had their visibility controlled, I was unable to lock them to the wall face. I keep getting constraints errors.
See

As no-one was able to answer my other forum queries, I have been forced down the route to use invisible lines.
The intent now is to hover over the family in my project, so the invisible linework appears but does not print. I was just wondering if the invisible lines could be dashed and not continuous.
thanks

This is probably a process problem.
Did you use a locked dimension from the wall face to the family or an align lock?
Hosted families can be a problem to build. I always like to create a reference plane well away from the host wall then place my elements in relation to that. Then I create a dimension from the wall face to that plane and change the dimension to what it needs to be to move the elements into the correct location.

Thanks WWDub. It took a fresh look. But I was able to make it work with the use of reference lines clear from the door geometry.
All the best.
