Revit 2012
I am creating railings using storefront systems. I created a panel that works well when used in the typical 90 degree justification. However, when I rotate the storefront grid system, Revit will not "make" the panel I created. When I rotate storefront, the shape is still rectangular. Does anyone have any ideas how I can make my panel cooperate with a rotated storefront? If no, how can I make one that does?
Thank you!

I'm not sure I understand your problem but if you click on your storefront and look at your Vertical Grid you will see you can change your grid rotation to whatever angle you want.

Use a railing.
This may help you: http://revitoped.blogspot.com/2008/07/railings-and-baluster-patterns.html

I have already rotated my storefront and grid. However, when I do so, Revit will not "make" the system panels I created (literally the pop-up reads "Can't make type "panel"). I have a feeling that it might have something to do with the system panel family I created. Maybe I have something locked that shouldn't? I don't know.

The reason I am using a storefront system instead of the railing tool is because I couldn't get the Revit railing tool to produce the railing panel profiles that I needed. I have already read through and tried the link that you posted. Helpful, but didn't help me create what I need.

If you post more information about your panel, we may be able to help you.
Sometimes, it takes more than one railing in the same place to create what is needed.

How did you rotate your storefront? The way I created mine was with a base contstraint and top constraint then I used the Attach Top/Base tool and attached the top and base to a reference plane.

I created my panel by using the "Curtain Wall Panel" template. The infill will be perferated metal panel, although I haven't modeled it that way yet. The frame and standoffs are what I couldn't get to model correctly when using the railings tool. Using the (terminology correction) Curtain Wall tools, I was able to create an editable, adjustable width railing that is easy to use and holds my frame and stand-offs in position while adjusting panel widths. However, once I rotate the Curtain Wall these panels apparently cannot be created. I rotated the Curtain Wall by first configuring grid layout with the angle I wanted (inside mullions turned the correct angle) and then reshaping the profile lines (outside boundary reflects the shape I need for the railing). The mullions for the curtain wall are round tube steel.
Please see attached for further info.

amber,
I don't know what you are doing but you are creating multiple posts. Are you hitting the refresh or back? Whatever it is, please stop creating the multiple posts.

Sorry about that, WWHub. Not sure how multiples are being created. Seemed to clear up once I logged out and logged back on? All except for that last post. Is there a way for me to delete duplicate while I'm wracking my brain about this railing?

I deleted all of your double posts as I see them. The login/out is not the problem. I think you are refreshing your screen or something similar. Instead, re-open the thread from the "Today's Posts" screen.

Got it, WWHub! Now, back to figuring out this railing. I am creating the handrail using the railing tool. The guardrail is still an issue. I cannot get the panels to model. How do I get them to model with the rest of the curtain wall system?
