Hey guys. So basically what i want to do is start a master plan in revit, and a few people has started modeling some building up, I have linked the other revit files into my master plan and basically building it up for the presentation. However I want to know, with the linked in revit models (some still being nothing but mass models) can I make a schedule in my master plan to calculate all the floor areas for all the buildings?

So i have 2 hotels (22 floors) , 4 office buildings (20 - 25 floors) and 5 commercial shopping buildings ( 3- 10 floors)

Can I make a schedule to calculate all the floor areas within my master plan? or do i have to ho into each linked model and pull the information from there?

Would appreaciate all help. thank you

Revit can only schedule what you provide and there are limitations with linked files.

So........... the big question is... did you try?  There is no excuse for not starting this yourself.  Turn on the switch to include linked files.  Then let us know if you find an answer.

so after playing with all the functions for a bit, i noticed that you can include things from linked models, however i cant seem to do a few things.

Get the grand total for the whole model, i made 2 schedules, 1 was just a floor shedule, that included an area for each floor  of each link, but cant get a grand total. then made a gross floor area shedule which gives me the total per link, but still cant get the grand total for all the links together. I tried doing research if im supose to add a calculated value formula, but i cant seem to figure that out.

So in the fields box, am i supose to add other parametes that will calculate totals?

I have attached a screen shot, so if you see a mistake please correct me.

And this is a long shot, but is it possible to create schedules in my master model for each individual link? such as floor area per building, Cost, Count, etc? without doing it individually in each link? is that possible?

Thank you for your help.
