I'm a revit newbie and using Revit 2014. I hid my sections because I was trying to print a sheet.
However, now I can't figure out how to unhide the sections so that I can use them again to reposition the views for rendering. Any ideas?
Thanks,
-mj

hi
if you used the Hide in View> By Elements, then thats the only way to unhide it.
however, if you can delete the existing view and re-create it again, this will show up those hidden elements.

Are you sure you don't just have the category turned off in VG?
In addition, tyour sections may be set to not show at small scales so change your plan view scale to a larger one and see if they show up.

Thanks for your reply, WWHub. I could never unhide the section, but I was able to see it in other views, so in the end, I deleted it from another view and then created a new section.
I was kind of afraid to delete sections in the beginning, as I was paranoid it would delete some view that I needed. But I eventuallly let go of that irrational fear once I realized that revit is very good about recreating views. I had that fear because revit is NOT so forgiving about changes such as editing materials and assets. E.g., if I accidentally modify a generic material and then save the project, I can't figure out how to ever get back to the original material.

It is easy to re-cut a section however if the view you deleted is annotated with a bunch of text and detail components then you would have to draw those all over again so be careful when you are just deleting views. Being fearful may be irrational but being cautious of your action and how it will affect the model and others is highly recommended

mjlee101,
I believe deleting the view was a mistake. Instead, you needed to learn why you could not see the view. The fact that the view existed in other views indicates your process needs looked at.

that's really good to know, thanks for the tip, teafoe5. I haven't gotten into doing annotations yet, but you're right, that would have been a nasty surprise...
