I have a store front curtain wall and individual panels separated by mullions. What I need to do is turn some of those panels into spandrel panels but when I even try to just change one they all change. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

You are modifying the single type panel you now have.  You need to duplicate type and create a new one with the thickness and material you need for your spandrels.

Ok, I selected one of the panels, duplicated type and named it Spandrel Panel, and changed it to the material I would like with tint and color and they are all still changing. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong still.

You are changing the material now that is used on both panels.  You can't do that either.  You need a new material and if this is 2013 or 14 then you have to pay attention to the asset.  Spend some time in your help - materials and how to create them.

Also - is your curtain wall fully defined?  In other words, are the spacings, mullions and panels pre-defined?  If so then you need to unlock those or better yet, change the curtain wall to one that has no pre-set elements.  Then change the appropriate panels to spandrel/

Again, watch some videos on curtainwalls and read your Help.
