I'm working on a project where I'm running an open corridor through a large open room and I used a room separation line to demarcate the corridor. This splits the room in two though, and I want to tag both parts with the same tag so that the area totals up as one area. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks,
Alan

It isn't really one area - is it?
I suggest you give it a subset.... 100N, 100S or 100a, 100b or don't really take the corridor through it.

We're still in pre-design moving into SD and at this point we're treating it as one space. Our firm is just getting into using Revit for the early planning stages so we're trying to figure out how to get revit to work for us as we'd like to use it.

Well then, I would treat it as one space - without a corridor dividing it- just define the corridor in 2D as passing through it.

One thing I see people just starting out using Revit is them trying to force Revit into doing things the way they use to do them. I'm not saying thats what you are doing, just a heads up that you will most likely have to change your way of thinking when it comes to Revit and do what revit wants in certain aspects.

Revit will allow you to have two rooms with the same name and number..... but I don't encourage that in this application but go ahead.
It will just not total as one space.

Re: WWHub
so you're suggesting using model lines instead of room separation lines. I think that'll actually work pretty well.
Re: Teafoe5
Exactly, we're trying to figure out where things will work as is and where we'll have to change the way we think about things. It's going to just be a long process of trial and error I suppose.
Thank you both for your input.
