1st post...
We have recently upgraded to Revit 2014 and are currently in the process of taking old projects (done in Revit 2010) and upgrading them to 2014. When adjusting the areas, we noticed that when we select the area, its boundary, and tag, and move it around on the area plan, the area number changes. We have all the areas numbered for filtering reasons, so this is problematic when there are 30+ areas to have to go back and renumber. Is anyone else having this issue/have a solution? We've already deleted out any "unplaced" areas, in case that matters. Thanks for any response.

I don't believe you are moving the area. Redraw - move your boundry. Then make sure you don't have disjoin on and move the area. The tag will move if you let it.
