We have recently transitioned to 2014, and are having a reoccuring error that seems to only be resolved by a "end process" in task manager (Revit gets stuck in a cycle and won't close normally). When editing a group, after clicking "OK" to close the group, an error message flashes and then disappears. The problem is, Revit won't continue closing the group until you have taken action - such as "delete all", etc - but there does not seem to be a way to pull the error message back up. We have collectively tried several fixes - minimizing all windows reveals nothing, tabbing through the ribbon does nothing, it won't even let me use a quick key to "jog" revit back into showing the error message. Pressing enter, esc, ctrl Z does nothing. It has happened several times, so not a rogue error. Any thoughts on how to pull the error message back up?

Do you have update 1 installed. You should always include what Revit and what update you are using in your posts.

Ty,
I can't find any information on what this fixes.
There is no update 2 listed on the autodesk site. Just 1 and a hotfix for license crashes.

Revit 2014, as noted in the subject & body - no update (I would have noted if I had installed it, but I should have clarified). Our software is installed/regulated on a server, and the BIM manager hasn't gotten around to installing it (4 months late, but whatever - only a little bitter). We're all curious to know if this is something fixed in the update, but aren't sure if we can install the update on individual PCs.

Your IT guy should have installed update 1 because it has been around for several months. Our guy has the install always look to see if new updates are available before doing an install. Update 1 is an important fix.
You can goto the autodesk site and look at the read the enhancements - that tells you what it fixes. The readme will tell you how to install and you can do that on each system.
I will not download that "update 2" from the blogspot site. It is not listed on the Autodesk site so beware.

We have the communications center turned off by policy because McAfee creates so many problems with it. So when I log onto the subscription center, I still can't see or get to an update 2. Autodesk's site really stinks!

We finally coerced (harassed) our BIM manager to installing the updates. He even confirmed with Revit that the 2nd service pack was just officially released last night. Will let you know if this fixes it!
