Good morning,
Strange to see that there aren't many topics about this subject in general, not even on Google, but i run into the following issue:
When creating a model in Revit 2013, we tend to add parameters to the objects with a code. It's currently a simple text-based shared parameter, placed under Identity Data. The problem is when we export this project to IFC that only some elements seem to export this parameter properly, while others (same type, same family, same info, same code, which is just a duplicate in a different position, e.g. a floor) will not export this data. I end up with two identical floors, and only one of them contains the Identity Data.
The next problem is that we recieve models that are already built up in a specific way. I ran a test this morning, creating the same parameter but only as a Project Parameter (Instance) instead of a Shared Parameter (Type). Strange enough this will solve the problem. The thing is that we will not edit all of the Revit models because this is a hell of a job. Is there a way to control the parameters being exported into IFC. The parameters are all the same, with the same code, but they are simply not being exported in the same way???
Any help is appreciated!
