R 2014....

I don't need to render this drawing, but I do want the stone pattern to show in a 3D image, and on the elevations. I'm having difficulty with this, now that I've reduced the scale of my drawings from 1/4" to 3/16".

I know I've seen this discussion somewhere, but cannot find an answer to my problem anywhere (yet). If someone could refer me to an answer, that would be lovely....

In more detail:

I've assigned a stone surface pattern (model) & a material to the wall... just like I normally do.

I've printed my drawing as I normally do...I now get a blank space where there ought to be a stone pattern. In the 3D image, I get a light stone pattern.

I'm wondering how to make the stone show up..... I've attached a few of files. 1. what it looks like on my computer screen 2. what it looks like when I print to a file to send to my printer 3. what that print file looks like on the 3d image portion of the sheet.

Thanks,

Susan

Did you actually try printing it and see how it comes out?  The 3D image would suggest to me a graphics card problem or phasing issue.

Thanks, yes.... printing it out it shows up like the second & third images.

Everything works fine when I print on larger sheets at 1/4" scale.

I suspect that the problem is the very small lines in your hatch pattern.  Revit will not do these at a small scale.

Success!

The problem was, indeed, the scale of the hatch pattern. I brought in a hatch pattern at a different scale, and it now prints fine. Tried a draft render, & it too works fine. Makes sense, as I had to re-create my annotation symbols for this new sheet size....

For the sloping stone wall at the entry & garage sides, I created a mass & then wall from mass. Works great.

Thanks for the feedback.

Susan
