Hi all,
I would like to be able to determine the total lengths of multiple reference lines in a generic family that I have created and schedule a total from it;
Or, just get the total length of an extrusion (complex pipe balustrade) and generate a scheduled total from it. Whichever is easiest.
Is there a command that does this in Revit 2012? Or do I need assign a parameter (=Length) to some part of my family to do this.
I am unfamiliar with 'parameters' so some guidance as to where I could find some clear information on this would be great. This is for a set of shop drawings that I am generating for several complex balustrade type things, where scheduling of lengths would be very time effective.
Thanks in advance,
Raoul

Dowload the "families guide" from the autodesk website and read it. You need a beginning understanding.
