Hi All, I'm trying to create a material legend for a project. So far it doesn't seem like there's a button for that yet. So my best work around so far is to create a bunch of filled regions and label them. But I don't want to have to keep updating my filled regions if we change the material fill paterns as the project moves along and we don't always show every fill in each drawing so they need to turn on and off. So, I figured I would add a yes/no visibility parameter to turn the fills on and off and use fills named for each material so that if I change the fill, the fill on the legend will update itself.

So, all of that, no problem. Except.. how does one link a parameter to its task.. right now the parameter is just sitting in my properties menu looking pretty but not acually doing anything. HELP PLEASE!

If anyone has an all around better way to do a materials legend that would be great too.

I'm not following you.  You want to make a material legend for your filled regions?  You don't need a parameter for this, just draw your filled regions and add text next to them calling out what they are.

I want to make a material legend of all the materials I've used in the project. But as far as I can tell Revit can't do that for me. So I'm using filled regions and text (as you recomended). However, I linked the fills to the appearances of each material so that they update automatically. But we don't use every fill in each drawing so I just want to be able to turn the fills on and off in my views. Or learn a better way to do this... does that explain better?
