Hi guys

After downloading components from RevitCity, I can't seem to change their materials. In the Edit Style window, there are no options for changing the material. Even when I try to edit the family, I can't seem to find any option for me to change its material. Plus when I render it, it has no default material. Can anyone help me with this?

Some information:

  1. "THE PROJECT RULES" <<  Once a material is loaded into or created in a project, that material can only be changed in the project.
  2. In order to be unique, every material must have its own unique name - otherwise - see rule #1.
  3. 3D Elements in families are initially set in the family - otherwise see rule #1.    These materials are assigned to each element and can be parametric.  Edit the element in the family to see what the material is.
  4. Materials for imported 3D elements in families (CAD Sketchup) are set by layer in the family but see rule #1.
  5. Materials for imported 3D elements in the project are set by layer when imported but see rule #1
