The roof in the attached image needs to be customised at the edges. I have highlighted a rafter poking out of the roof in the plane that the rafters will run(there will be no fascia) then at the edges of the roof at 90deg (the barge or verge) I will have end trimmers or sprockets (call them what you will depending where you come from). I would like to shape the ends of these rafters & sprockets to create the same profile as the fascia ends of the rafters.
To a great extent I do not need to model them as I can detail them, but it would good to show the shape in 3d so that there is some continuity for the clients as they are very concious of the style of the house.
I suppose could create a roof by profile but then it would be hard to customise the ends, or would it??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Totally don't understand what you are trying to do. No idea why the rafter is poking through the fascia and how it comes into play.
We need a 'what you get vs what you want' image or sketch.

Yes dgcad, not a very good description of my request.
I have been able to create the description of what I am after in the elevations but not in the model. I would like to model the roof element to suit the roof in the attached image.

try creating a special profile as a fascia, with the angled cutback as u require.
possibly do the roof just as the roof decking so it doesnt protrude thru the special profile.
then fill in the raters and purlins, sarking and insulation etc on the section in 2d.
similarly the soffit lining would be separate. as well.
just my thoughts
cheers

So do the roof as just colorbond at 16 mm then have a fascia profile as deep as the roof system is thick with the 600mm rake.
I wil give it a try, thanks a lot.

Thanks Geoff
I gave it a try and it looked good!! but the fascias would not miter at the corners. The corners on my roof are not 90deg which I think maybe wnat Revit cannot cope with.
