I have some structural framing members which I have cut with voids (as well as with reference planes) in order to shape the ends.  The problem I have is in a view, the member is cut but the line representing a hidden face of the member is not cut.

I tried using the linework tool and setting it to an Invisible Line which didn't work.  Of course I can turn hidden faces off, but I want to see them elsewhere on other objects in the view.

Is there something I'm missing?

The steel angle which is at 45 degrees is an L51x51x6.4.  At each end, there is a void which cuts the angle.  You can see the hidden line which extends beyond the ends of the member.  This line is the face of the angle leg pointing out of the page.  I can control it using the "Hidden Faces" subcategory.

Basically, I don't want it to extend past the cut ends.

I have had the same issue ever since upgrading to 2013. Phantomwray, are you also using 2013 version? Anybody with 2014 know if this issue was resolved?

I just upgraded to 2014 and it's still not working correctly.

I know this is an extremely old thread but wanted to add that this is still an issue in Revit 2023 and I have yet to find a solution
