I made a door and I attempted to upload into another file but i doesn't show up anywhere in the drawing or the door list. I'm still a beginner when it comes to creating families so I don't know what I'm missing (if anything) or if I did something wrong. Any advice would help.

Hi JCR,
You didn't start with door family template, that's why it did not act like a door family.
Try the followings:
1. Start new family, the Revit will show a pop-up window, "New Family - Select Template File".
2. Select "Door", then click "Open". Then start to create your door following the Tutorials.
