Hello,
I've ran into a restoration project where I need to create a wall with wood studs as the structure and a stone veneer. I'm fair familiar with creating walls (as I have several times since switching to Revit) but what is confusing me with this wall is the stone. I've duplicated a wall type close to what I need and have adjusted everything as need be but when I go to replace the brick with a stone veneer, there is no stone veneer to choose from in the wall style editor. Am I missing out on something here or is there not a stone "material" in the wall options......like where you build a wall and select brick, gyp board, etc......and if there isn't a stone material to choose from. how do you guys usually tackle projects with stone veneer? Thanks for any advice, it's quite possible I'm overlooking something and making this much more difficult than it should be. If so, I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.
Thanks
West

Stone .... way too many material choices here to include very many in your library but you will find a few. You need to look in your other assets.....the table like icon on the lower right in my image next to the circle with the plus. I looked in the AutoDesk physical assets and sorthed them by category so all the stones would be together.
Start by using the best fit with one of these. You will probably have to create your own material based on your stone type but you can change later.

Good Deal,
Thanks for the reply. I've created the wall now and everything seems to be in working order EXCEPT... haha
The stone only shows up when I set the viewing mode to "Realistic". I suppose because it doesn't have a hatch pattern or .pat file (in autocad terms, not sure about Revit lingo yet). I've tinkered with adding a stone surface pattern. At first I figured I would import a simple stone .pat file from where I downloaded one that was visual pleasing.....but i cannot seem to get them to work. I create a new fill pattern but I can't seem to get the scale right, as well as can't find where to change the scale. It has my "stone" fill pattern on the wall when I switch to say hidden line mode but the scale is way off.  1) stone if higher than my door heights and I'm simply over looking on where to get the scale right I suppose.

It will take you awhile to learn this process. I suggest you find some u-tube videos on material creation.
Patterns for materials should be model patters so that they can be adjusted right/left/up/down - rotated. As such, they are linked to the associated jpeg material image so that that moves as well for rendered views.
Study time!
