I have created a beam with chamfered ends using void extrusions. I would like to know if there is a way to turn the chamfered ends on or off?

If the voids are located parametrically (lets say up/down) with an instance based location (reference plane), you can move the voids off the beam in the model.

I am not sure I follow. I created a reference plane to locate the distance from the top of the beam where the chamfere will begin.

I am going to try to attach the beam to this reply.

Put this family in a model - plan view.  Now click on it and drag the grips in the center of the hole up and watch what happens.  Open the family and see how it is constructed.

Well - I don't have time to recreate that - you should always state what you are using in all posts.
