Has anybody ever tried to render a smoke filled room such as a bar or poker room?  I'm out of ideas on how to get the smokey haze to come out right

We used to be able to do this in accu-render but I don't see a way with this render engine.

I tried doing it with a nearly transparent room sized solid using a gradient.  Wound up obliterating everything.

I tried doing it with a 1/32" thick solid with the same gradient placed in front of the camera.  That did nothing to get a haze.

I tried doing it with a thicker solid.  It either obliterated the room or didn't make any noticable haze.

I've tried with a series of thin solids placed across the room.  Obliterated too quickly.

Oh well.  It'd be nice to get something. Until then, dim lights will get the room looking seedy.
