I've downloaded a shower/tub combo by kohler and for the life of me cant seem to change the appearance of it. I've tried everything I can think of to change the materials and color, even adding parameters that seem to do nothing and have no effect on the model. no matter what i do it remains that drab pinkish clay looking blah!

Can anyone help?

Edit that family, goto materials and change....

THE PROJECT RULES

Materials are defined in the family so you need to look there to find what materials are assigned to what.  Once a family is loaded into a project, the material definition is also loaded (if not already there).  Now, these materials can only be controlled in the project.
