Working in Revit Architecture 2012.
We are working on a project with an existing building that is being modeled by another consultant. In order to work simultaneously we have chosen to link the existing model into our model however now that we are trying to convert some objects to a demolished phase it does not seem that the existing model is displaying correctly and would like to know if anyone has some tips or thoughts on what may be the issue. Here are a couple things to note:
-Items called out to be demolished in the existing building model only show as dashed when "Show All" is selected under the Phase Filter. When any other phase filter is selected all items that should either be shown dashed or removed completely from the view are show as solid lines.
-All objects in existing building model were originally modeled as "New Construction" with "none" selected under Phased Demolished. As a test we combined the "New Construction" phase with existing to get everything to be listed as "Existing" and then created a new phase call "New Construction".
On a related note, we were considering binding the linked Revit model so as to have all elements live now that our consultant is finished however there are over 200 items that will be deleted if we proceed with this command - has anyone had any success with this kind of proceedure or would you suggest keeping files separate and linked?
Thanks!

Phases are hard for everyone initially.
"...As a test we combined the "New Construction" phase with existing to get everything to be listed as "Existing"..." Hopefully you selected everything and just changed the phase in properties box. No need to create a "new phase" because it is already there and diffault phase filters would work.
Demo is not really a phase.... it is a process - part of new construction. So demo from new phase - not existing. To show a demo plan set phase to new and phase filter to show previous+ demo. To show new, set phase to new and phase filter to show previous and new.

Thank you. It sounds like this is related to other postings where they talk about issues when the Phase Filters are renamed from "Show Previous + New" or Show Previous + Demo" correct? I see that our office template is not set up with the "Show Previous ..." options so we need to rename and it appears to work as expected.
