I am working to create a bunch of custom family templates for the office.  Right now I am working on a nested curtain rail family that has a shared curtain panel family loaded into it.

I have linked the width of the curtain with the width of the curtain rail.  But now I would like to link the height of the curtain (or how long it will be top to bottom) to the height of the curtain rail in relation to the reference level.  I can make a "height" parameter for both families and link them together, but this does not quite solve the problem.

When I load that family into a project, this height parameter can be completely different from the elevation parameter.  Is there a way to link the height of the curtain or the height of the rail to the elevation parameter?

In the end I want to be able to schedule the height and width of each curtain in an entire project.  And to make it clean and simple for my colleagues to use.  Any good ideas out there on how to do this?
