I am starting on modelling a strawbale building, has anyone done strawbale walls?
How does one do strawbale, where at the ends of walls you have timber bucks as supporting sturctures?

Just create it as a family wall type. If you've never duplicate and edited a wall I would recommend walking through a tutural on it first. It's a very easy process once you get the hang of it. If on the other hand you don't know how the structure of the wall, I would find that out first and them create it.

Hi,
yes i do know how to create a wall family... but this does not solve the problem for me. I will describe the problem in a little more detail:
These strawbale walls are infill, which means that they are supported at the ends by wall bucks. The wall bucks are made of double studs on either side which are held together by a 7mm ply sheet. The wall bucks are often at window and door openings. The strawbale walls are generally 450mm thick and therefore the bucks 450mm wide.
So how does one place wall bucks at ends of strawbale walls without the two walls trying to join up?
then there is the issue of how to get wall bucks to display properly in plan, that is show the double studs on either side, with a sheet of ply.

others will have better ideas in how to do the structure, eg in place families maybe. but in regard to the straw bales 'joining' up, have you tried using the 'edit wall join tool'? i think there is a good tutorial on this.
