I am using Revit 2013.I downloaded a solar panel form the download area. When I use it in my model I get a message about it upgrading to latest. Being fairly new to Revit, I am aware that it is not backward compatible, so am a bit concerned about this message, or is it not something I have to concern myself with??Thanks

Revit will automatically upgrade any family created earlier than the version you are in. There is very little concern here. We have heard of some families that done perform correctly after upgrade - usually because they were built funny - but you should have no problems.
