Hello All =)

I am trying to link a equipment Revit model into my architectural Revit model. A few issues are arising. First, the equip model is for sure linked, because I can see some elements like match lines from the equip model link in my arch model in the correct location. The problem is that I cant see almost anything else, especially the actual equipment components. I went to VG and turned EVERYTHING on. Still no luck. Ive tried almost everything I can think of. Hoping someone else has any suggestions.

...Heres a lil back story of other issues I came across that might help with figuring out a solution:

1. The first time i tried to link it, the equipment guys didnt detach our model from theirs so it was causing a nesting error. I had them fix this and i no longer get the nesting error alert.

2. After the nesting issue, I got it to link with everything displayed but for some reason it messed up the visibility of all my plumbing fixture components, to where, when it is not selected, it is invisible, but when I drag select the item and it will show up highlighted. Then as soon as i deselect, its invisible again. So I detached the link, thinking I can do it again, but when I tried again, none of the equipment shows (as mentioned above), but my plumbing fixtures display fine. Ive tried detaching, closing revit, restarting computer, relinking, about a dozen times. Still no luck =(

3. I initially received the file to be linked with a date prefix of 20130628. I removed the prefix before linking it, but when I look into my manage links, the date prefix is there. The weirdest thing is that the original prefix is for the day of the 28th, but in my manage links it shows the prefix day as the 24th.

Please Please Please help! Thank you in advance for your efforts =)

Change your discipline to coordination and see if things show up

Models don't just align x & y, they also have to work in z - that may be part of your problem.  Look at an elevation or sectio

You say it initially worked but does not now work.  No telling what you may have changed.  Look at your view settings - what discipline setting do you have.

Once a file is linked, it can be reloaded from a file with a different name but the original name stays unless you tell it to change that.

Thank you!!! Duh! I should have checked the section! It was in fact floating way above my model. I did check it in 3d initially but i didnt see it there, so i assumed it wasnt coming in correctly.

Its all good now! Thank you =) Ill be sure to never make that mistake again =/
