Hi, does anyone know how you might create a tube like structure with windows or port holes along its curved sides?

Are the portholes going to have curved/warped glass to match the tube?
If not and the tube is created using massing walls, you should be able to place circular windows in them but they will be placed to normal x/y axis.

Yes, I was hoping to create eliptical shaped windows along the side of a tube, similar to an aircraft but larger, curved would be nice, same cross sectional profile as the tube.
Thanks

I think the easiest way would be to model the windows in a family that is unhosted (already shaped to the tube etc. Then place your windows in space and create openings for them.

Correction, I can create a square / rectangular opening but not an eliptical or round one!

I can create a void extrusion but only in one plane, ie looking down on the cylinder "0", not sure how you can create a eliptical profile at 90 degrees to this plane ?
forgive my ignorance, I am a relatively new user

You need to draw a reference line in plan first, then set that as the work plane for the extrusion... you will then be prompted to go to a section/elevation where this plane can be seen at an angle to the screen.
